Strong Starts

Two Coloradans find themselves in the top three at the halfway point of a Web.com Q-school first-stage tournament in St. George, Utah.

James Love (pictured) of Denver, who shot a 12-under-par 59 in the first round at SunRiver Golf Club, backed that up with a 2-under 69 Wednesday, leaving him in a share of the lead with John Chin of Temecula, Calif., at 14-under 128.

Love, a former University of Denver golfer, made three birdies and a bogey on Wednesday.

Arp, a former Colorado State University golfer, fired a 64 on Wednesday to move into a share of third place at 130. He eagled the 17th hole to go along with six birdies in round 2.

Another former CSU golfer, Dustin Morris, shares 10th place in a first-stage tournament in The Woodlands, Texas.
