Week to Remember

Former University of Colorado golfer Josh Creel had a memorable run this week on the Adams Pro Tour, posting two top-three finishes, including a victory, in the course of four days.

The Cheyenne product, who finished up his college career as the national Division II player of the year at Central Oklahoma in 2012, won the Magnolia Creek Open in League City, Texas, on Tuesday. Then he tied for third Friday in the Bay Oaks Winter Classic in Houston.

Creel (pictured), who placed 12th last year in the HealthOne Colorado Open, earned $4,000 for his victory in League City after rounds of 67-71 left him at 6-under-par 138, good for a three-stroke win.

And in Houston, Creel received a $1,638 check for his third-place showing, going 67-73 for a 4-under 140 total which left him two back of champion Blake Trimble.

Also this week, former Colorado State University golfer Parker Edens tied for seventh in the Dreamchasers Pro Golf Tour’s Ocotillo Winter Major in Chandler, Ariz. The golfer from Greeley carded scores of 74-73-69 for an even-par 216 total.
