Clapp, Doidge Dominate CGA State Four-Ball

The team of Dean Clapp and Jim Doidge (pictured) fired an eight-under par 64 in the final round for a 128 total and a dominating 10-stroke victory in the CGA State Four-Ball Championship at Grandote Peaks Golf Course in La Veta. Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Rick DeWitt teamed up with Henry Bissell to shoot their second consecutive 69 in the final round to finish second at 138. Ted Moore and Scott Guetz shot 68 in the final round to move into a third place finish at 139.

In the Senior Division, Robert Polk and Jim Pierce finished in a tie at 134 with John Olive and Ronald Knapp, who are both former CGA Senior Players of the Year. Polk and Pierce birdied the fourth playoff hole to win Senior Division title. Olive and Knapp finished second with the playoff loss, and current CGA Senior Match Play champion Kelly Crone finished third with partner Larry Netherton at 136.
