Finishing with a Flurry

In a week the attention of much of the golf world is centered on The Players Championship, Colorado native Wyndham Clark quietly made another impression on the Web.com Tour.

For the second straight Web.com event, Clark shot a 6-under-par 30 on his final nine holes to post a top-three finish.

This time, the 2017 Pac-12 individual champion eagled the 10th hole, and birdied 11, 12, 13 and 18 to shoot a 6-under-par 65 at the Knoxville (Tenn.) Open. That gave Clark a 12-under-par 272 total, good for third place, behind only champion Stephan Jaeger of Germany and runner-up Sungjai Im.

Two weeks ago, the 24-year-old Clark placed second at the United Leasing & Finance Championship after a final-nine 30 that likewise featured an eagle and four birdies.

In his quest to finish among the top 25 on the final 2018 Web.com Tour money list and thus earn his PGA Tour card, Clark (pictured in a PGA Tour photo) now has three top-four performances this year on the Web circuit.

Sunday’s showing was worth $37,400 for Clark. With that, he jumps into ninth place on the season-long money list, at $133,091.
