Strong Showings So Far

Charlotte Hillary of Englewood remained in the top 25 at Wednesday’s halfway point of the girls 15-18 division at the prestigious IMG Academy Junior World Championships being held in the San Diego area.

Hillary (pictured) shot a 3-over-par 75 at Torrey Pines North on Wednesday and shares 23rd place out of 153 competitors at 3-over 145. The winner of the 2016 JGAC Tour Championship made two birdies and five bogeys in round 2. Yuka Saso of the Philippines leads at 135.

Meanwhile, in the boys 15-18 division, Dillon Stewart of Fort Collins moved into the top 40 out of 208 players. Stewart shot a 1-over-par 73 at Torrey Pines’ South Course to check in at 5-over 149, good for a share of 37th place. He trails leader Devondeep Bling of Ridgecrest, Calif., by 10 strokes.

The tournament will continue through Thursday or Friday, depending on the division.
